How to Complete the Witch Sellen Quest

Elden Ring players can find some of the best sorcery items in the game by completing the Sorceress Sellen questline.

The world of Elden Ring can be intimidating. With so much to do and so little guidance, it’s only natural for players to miss a specific questline or two.

It’s unfortunate because some of the quest lines will give you some of the best items in Elden Ring.

The Millicent questline will allow players to completely alter the ending of Elden Ring.

While completing the painting side quests, they will offer a variety of rewards if correctly solved.

But if you’re looking to develop Intelligence, the Sorceress Sellen questline is one you shouldn’t miss. Here’s how you can complete it and unlock some of the best sorcery spells in Elden Ring.

How to Start the Witch Sellen Quest

1. Find the witch Sellen and learn new sorceries

To complete the Witch Sellen quest, you will first need to head to the Waypoint Ruins and talk to her.

This first step is usually quite simple and can be done quite early in the game. It is also useful for new players looking to use sorceries, as the witch Sellen will be able to teach you new sorcery spells.

To find it, you will need to head to the Waypoint Ruins at Limgrave.

Here you will find a giant poison flower and regular poison flowers. You can either defeat them or fight your way through until you find an underground staircase.
Make your way in the stari case where you will have to defeat a crazy pumpkin head.
This boss is slow, so its attacks are easy to dodge. Wait for the right moment and hit his body and he should be done with it quickly.
From there, open the door and you should be able to talk to the witch Sellen. She will ask you to become her apprentice.
Accept and you’ll be well on your way to completing his questline.

You can also buy new sorcery from the witch Sellen from now on. If you find scrolls, you can bring them to her to add to the list of spells she can teach you.

2. Find Primeval Sorcerer Azur and Comet Azur

After starting the quest, you will need to find the body of the Primeval Sorcerer Azur.

You won’t find Primeval Sorcerer Azur until later in the game.

Once you defeat Godrick, the graft in Stormveil Castle, and Rennala the Moon Queen in Raya Lucaria Academy, you can push the quest line further.

Of course, you can always skip Stormveil Castle and head straight for Rennala to defeat her.

Whichever way you choose, once you can access Mount Gelmir, you can find Azur in the Primeval Sorcerer Azur Grace Site.

Go past the village of Hemit to the north.
Eventually, you’ll find Primeval Sorcerer Azur next to a site of grace and one of the most powerful sorcery spells in the Elden Ring, Comet Azur.
Go back and talk to Sellen. She will ask you for a request.
Tell him you want to travel together and you will receive the Sellian Sealbreaker.

3. Find Master Lusat & Stars of Ruin in Sellia Hideaway

Sellen will now send you on a new quest to find Master Lusat, another wizard.

You will need to travel to Caelid to find the Sellia Hideaway in order to find Lusat’s body.

Make your way to the Plague Site Church of Grace.
From there, head north until you come across some sort of graveyard.
You will see a large battle mage in front of a tell tombstone.

Behind them will be a secret cave entrance. Just hit the stone wall to reveal it.
Go down into the cave. You will see crystals that you can walk on. Cross until you come face to face with a snail on a crystal.
Go down to your left from here. You should see a mage directly in front of you.
You will see a seal in front of them where you can use the Sellian Sealbreaker.
Go inside and you will find the body of Master Lusat and the Doomstar Sorcery.
Now go back to the Waypoint Ruins and talk to the Witch Sellen.
Tell him you discovered Lusat’s location in the dialog options.

To move on to the next part of the quest, you’ll first need to make sure you’ve defeated Starscourge Radahn. This can be done by following Ranni’s questline, where you can also obtain the coveted Dark Moon Greatsword.

Once you’ve done this, the Witch Sellen will ask you for a favor.

4. Find the real body of the witch Sellen

She will ask you to find her real body. His current body is just a projection of his true self.

Head to the Witchbane Ruins in the Weeping Peninsula.
To get there, head to the Fourth Church or the Marika de Grace site on the western side of the Weeping Peninsula. Head south and you should see the Witchbane Ruins.
There will be a few enemies that use rot spells so be careful.
From there, find the stairs that lead down to the basement.
You will find Sorcerss Sellen’s real body chained up.
Start the dialogue and you will eventually receive a Primal Glitterstone.

She will tell you that this Primal Glinstone holds her soul and that her current body will soon be of no use. So at this point in this quest you will need to find a new body for him. Fortunately, Seluvis has one waiting for you.

From there, you will need to return to Ranni’s Rise.
In the outskirts of the area, you will see ruins. Head here and start rolling.
You will discover the secret underground lair of Seluvis.

Head to his lair and hit the wall.
This will reveal a small room with the real body of the witch Sellen.

Insert the Primal Glinstone into this new body, and it will trigger a dialogue with this new Witch Sellen indicating that she can now return to the Academy.

From now on, you won’t be able to find her at the Waypoint Ruins location.

The journey to complete Sellen’s quest is challenging. You might want to make sure you have the best talismans the game has to offer before going any further!

5. Meet the Witch Hunter Jerren

After finding the new body of the witch Sellen, you will need to go to Redmane Castle in Caelid. Here you will meet a new quest member.

Head to the area where the Battle Festival was held to celebrate Starscourge Radahn. Climb the stairs and enter the chapel in front of you.

You will find Jerren here. Talk to him and he will tell you that he is no longer tied to Redmane Castle. With Radahn gone, he can settle matters elsewhere.

After this conversation, return to the Witchbane Ruins to view Sellen’s former body.

You’ll find Jerren standing over the body with his sword. He remarks that he felt soulless and states that the witch Selen was known to create chaos.

6. Choose between Jerren and the witch Sellen

You will now need to return to Raya Lucaria Academy in a familiar location. Fast travel to Raya Lucaria’s Great Library Grace Site. He should have unlocked it after defeating Rennala.

From there, you’ll need to head back to where you first entered the library. There you will find two summoning panels.

Now you have to make a choice. Either help the Witch Sellen defend herself against Jerren. Or help the witch hunter Jerren complete his mission and defeat the witch Sellen.

Each path will offer different rewards. The golden summoning sign will allow you to aid the witch Sellen, while the red summoning sign will allow you to invade alongside the witch hunter Jerren.

This is similar to how summoning works in the multiplayer component of Elden Ring!

After defeating Sellen, you can talk to Witch Hunter Jerren outside where the summoning panels were. This will reward you with an ancient dragon’s forge stone, one of the rarest items in the game.

Rewards for helping Witch Sellen:

Eccentric Armor Set

Once you defeat Jerren, you can talk to the witch Sellen in the middle of Raya Lucarian Academy. She will give you the Glitterstone Kris Daggerand you can learn the Shard Spiral Witchcraft on his part.

She will be where Rennala usually is at the start. Quickly travel elsewhere and then return. You’ll see Rennala back in her usual place, and the witch Sellen on the side, looking slightly different. You can find the Witch’s Glinstone Crown next to her.

This will mark the end of the Witch Sellen questline, but you still have a few rewards to find.

7. Obtain Azure and Lusat Armor

Once you complete the Witch Sellen questline, you can return to the bodies of Primal Witch Azur and Master Lusat to find new rewards waiting for you.

Return to Primeval Sorcerer Azure at his Grace Site at Mount Gelmir and head to where his body once lay.

Here you will find the next armor set waiting for you Azure Glinstone Crown, Azure Glinstone Robe, Azure Bindings, and Old Wizard’s Legwraps.

Return to Master Lusat in the Sellia Hideaway and head to where you originally found his body.

Here you will find Lusat’s Glinstone Crown, Lusat’s Robe, and Lusat’s Bindings.

And There you go. Once you have followed all these steps, you will have completely completed the Sorcerer Sellen quest.
